Desktop Calendar Free

Desktop calendars let you see the current date without needing to click anything. They are large enough, so the date is visible even if you are not sitting in front of the computer, but this can also be a drawback. Because they are so large, you will have less room on your desktop or they can get in your way. Desktop Calendar works with Windows XP, Vista and Win 7. It can be installed in less than a minute and you can run it without needing high end hardware.

When launched, the application will display a transparent calendar which will merge with your desktop. You can not move or resize it like a window. Clicking and dragging over it will draw a rectangle on your desktop and you can even place icons in the same area like there is nothing there.

You can interact with individual cells by double clicking them. A text box will appear over the cell, so you can type a reminder, to do list and so on. The boxes can be resized, like normal windows, and you can also select a background color for that specific cell. Right clicking the application's system tray icon will display a series of options for changing the date, hiding the calendar, setting a maximum number of rows and other basic tasks.

The application's settings panel can be accessed by double clicking the system tray icon. A preview of your desktop is displayed on the larger area of this window, where you can resize the calendar by clicking and dragging its edges or corners. You can also find three sets of options, under separate tabs, on the lower area of the settings panel. Using them, you will be able to set a different transparency level for the calendar, change its font, the wallpaper on your desktop, and more.
